Country music legend Merle Haggard prepares for his upcoming summer tour. At 74, Haggard still records, tours and writes timeless music. His work casts a long and wide shadow on American music. Over the years, Haggard has earned 40 number one hits, 3 Grammys and last year was inducted into the Kennedy Center.
Haggard's music influenced thousands of musicians such as the Rolling Stones, the Grateful Dead, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Gretchen Wilson, George Jones and even Willie Nelson.
The first summer Haggard tour date is scheduled on July 2 in Lawton, OK. Other southern dates include Bossier City, LA (July 3), Quapaw, OK (July 29), Huntsville, AL (July 30), Ashland, KY (July 31), Alexandria, VA (Aug 1), Charlottesville, VA (Aug 4), N. Myrtle Beach, SC (Aug 5), Augusta, GA (Aug 6), Southaven, MS (Aug 7), San Antonio, TX (Aug 10), Stafford, TX (Aug 11), Grant, OK (Aug 12), and Fort Worth, TX (Aug 13).
