Dog Day Afternoon In the Peach State

A quick note as the Dog Days descend here in Georgia…I briefly visited Stanley Booth and Diann Blakely today to talk shop, so to speak. Look for part four of Diann’s Notes on the State of Poetry soon. I missed her by a couple of hours, but Lisa Love of The Georgia Music Hall of Fame visited Stanley & Diann this afternoon. Heavy company, indeed... 

Speaking of The Georgia Music Hall of Fame, as reported here before, The Black Crowes will be inducted next month. Today, the band’s Croweology hit the streets. Look for the review next week as the Crowes prepare to hit the road before they take another hiatus.

2008 Georgia Music Hall of Fame Inductees, Widespread Panic ended the summer leg of their tour last week in Charlotte. Next month Panic begins touring again to support their great new CD Dirty Side Down. More Panic coverage once the tour commences in September…
