The Hammock Shops are nestled among the sea oats and trees just off of Highway 17 near Pawley's Island, and offer an intriguing assortment of gift shops, clothing stores and an amazingly tasty restaurant called Tyler's Cove.

We stopped in for lunch during our Labor Day weekend getaway, and enjoyed excellent service, thirst-quenching tea, and some mighty fine lunch. I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie ($6.50), which is served with rice andfresh vegetables. The pies are made to order, so expect to wait about twenty minutes for this special treat. The savory chicken is rolled into a puff pastry, and baked until flaky. This entree will have your mouth watering before you have the first bite up to your lips.

Other mouth watering dishes available at lunch include Seafood Strudel ($7.95), which has shrimp, scallops and crabmeat rolled into a phylla dough and baked; various salads, including Cajun Fried Chicken Salad,Tyler's Chef Salad, Low Country Shrimp salad and more;the Reuben, the Pawley's Island Melt, and Tyler's Bacon Bleu Burger ($6.95) featuring a 1/2 pound burger topped with chunky bleu cheese and bacon. Yummy.

If you find yourself near The Hammock Shops, do yourself a favor and do lunch or dinner at Tyler's Cove. You'll be glad you did.
