RIP Lisa Blount

Filmmaker Ray McKinnon’s wife, Lisa Blount, died yesterday at home. Blount, 53, of Little Rock, Arkansas, suffered a chronic illness similar to multiple sclerosis, and complained of not feeling well days before she died.

Blount won an Academy Award in 2001 as a producer on The Accountant, written by her husband. Blount also played Debra Winger’s friend in the movie Officer and a Gentleman. McKinnon recently made a film with Hal Holbrook. He’s become one of the most talented people in film over the last 15 years. McKinnon and Blount also collaborated with the Drive By Truckers.
