Last Night’s Interview with Marc Ford
Last night Marc Ford and I arranged time to talk about him producing Ryan Bingham’s new record, joining Booker T’s band and his latest songwriting endeavors. I haven’t transcribed the interview yet, but he reveals a couple of timeless stories I can’t wait to see on paper. He was out at Compound Studios in California where he does most of his work.
Marc’s first show with Booker T is June 4. He’s looking forward to the tour. I mentioned it should be fun playing some of those classic Steve Cropper songs. “Oh, man…I play Cropper riffs all the time,” Marc laughed. We talked about family, the economy and he even made specific equipment suggestions for me to utilize while recording my stories or bits of spoken word. I’ll probably spare the reader such chit-chat, because there’s plenty of information Marc provides without our brother from a different mother talk. At any rate, it’s on the way.
Now all I have to do is get my Dave Schools, Lance Ledbetter, Chuck Leavell and Marc Ford interviews transcribed…so duty calls. Stay tuned. More news tomorrow. Until then,
