ACC Daily Fever: Two More QBs to leave the "U"

Posted: Aug 25, 2009

ACC Daily Fever is the top ACC story of the day. Disagree? Let us know.

An interesting story broke today in Coral Gables as two more quarterbacks have decided to transfer out of the Miami program. Taylor Cook (the projected backup to starter Jacory Harris) and Cannon Smith (son of FedEx founder Fred Smith) will join the likes of Kirby Freeman and Robert Marve in exiting the 'Canes program.

The question becomes is there an issue with Coach Randy Shannon, or is it just young signal callers looking for a place to start instead of serving in a abackup role. Either way, the number of recent QB transfers has to be a little alarming for Miami fans who are still waiting to see their team play in an ACC Championship Game.

With a schedule that starts with Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tach and Oklahoma, the stability of the 'Canes program will be tested early.
