On January 12, 13 and 14, the Drive By Truckers will perform homecoming shows at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia. On the first evening, the Futurebirds will serve as the opening band. For the Jan 13 show, the Alabama Shakes support. Free Mountain and Camp Amped Band will open for the Truckers on January 14.
These Athens dates count as the first 2012 shows for the Drive By Truckers. The group is currently writing material for a new album. Stay tuned for the upcoming Swampland interview with Trucker pedal steel player/guitarist John Neff.
