Hey Y'all...my computer crashed yesterday...snakes on everything for your humble scribe, but I know the score so you won't hear me complain. So, this evening's dispatch is composed from the home of Stanley Booth near the Little Satilla River. Navigating through the shallow waters of technical difficulty, but all things must pass...

We've listened to Dylan's "New Pony" from Street Legal, "Can't Wait", which was on Time Out of Mind that Jim Dickinson played on, and he and Stanley go way back as Stanley said, "When we were seventeen and crossing the railroad track between MSU--now the University of Memphis--and the world of beer..."

Stanley's pick of the day for you good readers is John Coltrane's Crescent. Coltrane's Meditations plays now. Stanley gave me a copy of Richard Stark's The Handle. Diann, the family poet, rests in her fairy tale bed. Diann's next installment of her Notes On Poetry is coming soon...I promise. Her choice of the day for everyone is Kristin Kelly's Cargo, which Diann is polishing the book's introduction. My choice of the day is Stanley's second book Rythm (sic) Oil that includes great stories about Gram Parsons, Otis Redding, Al Green, Furry Lewis, Keith Richards and many others. It's an unforgettable education...

I'd like to express my gratitude to Stanley and Diann for their hospitality this evening. We're about to sit on the porch and talk about the change afoot...a changing of the guard, if you will. Soon, I'll fill you guys in on some upcoming Swampland excitement. Thanks for reading. Stay tuned...
