ACC Daily Fever: Miami offense faces challenge without Fox

Miami received some bad news during their preparation for the Champs Sports Bowl against Wisconsin. Left tackle Jason Fox, who has started 47 games (third most in school history) during his stellar career, will undergo surgery and miss his final game. The All-ACC lineman had only allowed one sack of Jacory Harris this season while the ‘Canes racked up over 3,200 passing yards. With a solid recovery, Fox will be projected to go in the first three rounds of April’s NFL Draft.

Wisconsin has 32 sacks and 15 interceptions on the season, so the Miami offensive line will definitely be tested in trying to protect Harris. The ‘Canes offense tends to go the way their dynamic sophomore quarterback plays. In their three losses, Harris threw for just three touchdowns versus eight interceptions.

Replacing Fox at left tackle may be the key to a Miami victory in front of the home-state crowd in Orlando.
