SEC Daily Fever: Alabama Domintates Florida in SEC Title Rematch

Posted: Dec 07, 2009

Alabama rode a physical offense and a swarming defense to the SEC crown as they defeated the defending league and national champion Florida Gators 32-13.

A Tide victory was not a surprise, but the margin and ease with which Bama pulled away caught most observers off guard. Nick Saban's bunch played like a team on a mission, one that did all the little things it takes to win big ball games. They played like a squad who had been motivated for an entire year by last year's loss in this game.

The Tide will now head to Pasadena ranked #1 and will try to win the SEC's fourth National Crown in a row.

We wrote last month that despite all of the Tim Tebow fanfare, it was the Florida defense that had carried the Gators in '09. When that unit struggled without the suspended Carlos Dunlap, it was more than Tebow and the offense could overcome. UF will now head to the Sugar Bowl to meet Cincinnati while watching Alabama carry the conference flag to California.
