ACC Daily Fever: Tough Weekend for League's Reputation

Last weekend saw a doomsday scenario play out for the league in its three battles against the SEC.

#1 Florida was expected to beat Florida State in Gainesville, but ACC Title combatants Georgia Tech and Clemson were favored to win against their in-state rivals from the middle of the pack of the SEC. Instead, all three league teams lost and have the conference feeling like "little brother" in the South more than ever.

Both Paul Johnson and Dabo Swinney will focus this week on the fact that winning the ACC Championship is their goal each season, and that they have a chance to do that in Tampa. But the league will have a tough time promoting this game after last week's losses.

The ACC took a lot of criticism with some of their early non-conference defeats, and unfortunately that reputation will not be helped by their top two squads going down to 7-5 teams from the SEC.

It's another call of "wait 'til next year" for ACC football fans.
