SEC Daily Fever: LSU needs Auburn win to stay on league's top shelf

Most in the local and national media are already looking towards December for the highly- anticipated Florida-Alabama matchup in Atlanta, but one team who has the talent to throw a wrench in that scenario is LSU.

The Tigers lost at home to Florida but if they can get their offense going, Les Miles' crew could still contend for the West Division crown. 

LSU must get back to the power running game of Charles Scott, who tallied 18 touchdowns a year ago but only has two this season.

With Auburn coming into Death Valley, the Bengal Tigers have a chance to show that they can control SEC games with their running and defense.

LSU must win games like this one, as well as Ole Miss and Arkansas, if they want to be considered on the conference's top shelf alongside Florida and Alabama.

Miles, despite his BCS Championship, remains an enigma to most in the SEC.  Keeping pace with Alabama will help keep any critics at bay.
