ACC Daily Fever: Shannon Keeps Miami Focused

With Georgia Tech’s big win over Virginia Tech last Saturday, the biggest beneficiary may have been the Miami Hurricanes.

The Coastal Division is now a wide open race, and Randy Shannon’s bunch should have the tiebreaker (#10 in the initial BCS rankings) if they can run the table.

While many have talked about “The U” returning to national prominence, Shannon says the Canes focus is on conference games, not their BCS rank. He knows they will have to come to play each week if Miami is going to reach their first ACC Title Game.

The Canes path to an ACC crown continues this week with a home game against Clemson, a very talented team with a big upset on their mind.

Without wishing any team ill, the ACC desperately needs either Miami or Georgia Tech to run the regular season table so that the conference will finally have a strong top 10 team at season's end.
