SEC Daily Fever: Florida and Alabama On Path For Title Rematch

Tim Tebow did start and play against LSU Saturday night, but it was the Gator defense that dominated the game and propelled Florida to a 13-3 road victory in Death Valley.

LSU had been living dangerously in SEC play, and they could not put enough points on the board against a unit that looks as good as any in the nation.

The Florida performance, coupled with Alabama’s impressive defensive game at Ole Miss, has the SEC looking like a battle of two current superpowers who met in Atlanta last December. A few weeks ago, the SEC had 4 teams in the Top 7. But with Ole Miss looking overrated and LSU struggling on offense, it is clear that the two best teams in the league are once again Florida and Alabama. They are also rated as the two top teams in the country in the new AP Poll, as Bama supplanted Texas in the #2 spot.

It’s no guarantee that these two big boys of college football will meet again in the SEC Title Game, but the smart money would bet heavily that we will see a huge rematch in Atlanta this December.
