ACC Daily Fever: Bowden Saga Engulfs The Sunshine State

The drama of the Bobby Bowden saga at Florida State continues to be the story of week.

The embattled coach will not comment on his reports of his tenure coming to an end, but his wife says that Bowden has been betrayed by the chairman of the school's board of trustees and other boosters. Conversely, popular columnist Mike Bianchi says that Bowden is betraying FSU by not hanging it up with the program falling into mediocrity.

There is no doubt that the fan base is divided on how and when the longtime coach should depart. Former Noles great Deion Sanders thinks Bowden should be able to set his own timetable, while many in the media think it’s definitely time for a change. The situation was further complicated when ESPN reported that Bowden will not be asked to step down according to their source.

One thing is for sure; the program needs leadership as they sit at 0-2 in the ACC with Georgia Tech coming to town. Bowden cannot let his personal situation become bigger than the program, and he must try and salvage this season for his players.
