ACC Daily Fever: Miami Looks Like a BCS-Level Team

Posted: Oct 06, 2009

While Florida State is battling inconsistency and coaching upheaval, their Sunshine State rival Miami is experiencing resurgence.

Coming into the season, there were many questions about Randy Shannon’s future with his team facing a brutal opening month schedule. But after going 3-1 against four ranked opponents, Miami could be staring at an 11-1 record and a possible at-large BCS bid.

While the Canes will need some serious help to reach the ACC title game after their loss to Virginia Tech, there is no reason they couldn’t run the table as the schedule gets much easier. In fact, their toughest game remaining looks like the season finale at South Florida - a game that cold decide who's Florida's second best team in the state.

With Jacory Harris leading the way in Mark Whipple’s offense, Miami looks to be headed down the right road to becoming a national power once again.  The ACC should be overjoyed at this prospect.
