Discussion: Essays From Third Topic in Pat Conroy Contest (Relationships)

Of the 15 books we have to give away, 7 have been reserved for non-essay writers who participate by adding to or leading the discussion both on Swampland and on the Writers of the South Facebook page.
We are posting all of the essays here so that people can comment on them, Conroy, or the topic at large. By doing so, you can win a copy of South of Broad.

Essay Topic #2:
Post approximately 100 words about what you have discovered about relationships (especially friendship) from southern literature. You may include blood as well as non-blood relationships in the literature of the south. Post your entry on the wall of the Writers of the South Facebook page. You may illustrate your point(s) from any work or works of southern literature. You need not restrict your references to the writings of Pat Conroy. When you compose your entry, it would be helpful if you began with the words Pat Conroy Contest Week 3 or Week 2 etc so we can be certain which topic you are discussing.
Essay #1:
In The Secret Life of Bees, Sue Monk Kidd introduces us to Lily Owens, a motherless white girl living with a drunken father in Sylvan, SC in the '60s. A young black housekeeper, Rosealeen, has taken on the extra duty of being a step-in mother to Lily. When Rosaleen is arrested for being proud and black, then later beaten and taken from jail to a hospital, Lily ignores the boundaries of race and class and breaks Rosaleen free. Together, they escape Sylvan, showing how true friendship in the South brushes away racial and class restrictions, painting a new world.
Essay #2:
Ferrol Sams is always on the tip of the tongue when it comes to materializing the Southern Writers take on relationships. In Run With The Horsemen he breaks it down to my own southern beliefs that the relationships for most southerners begins with the mother. "There is an unspoken southern axiom that if a lady complains about something, a gentleman immediately assumes the responsiibility of rectification. It is based on the principle that if Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy, and it is an easy molder of family attitudes and activities."

Also other best dvd loved by people is Scrubs and Desperate Housewives Seasons. In USA, people talked about Greys Anatomy most while in China, Japan, and other counties in Asia, people like True blood and Lostmost.
And the famous dvd talked by man is P90x Workout, by which people can excise their body in office, working place or just at home, can be very easy and confortable.
In UK, people like to turn to Dexter most while UK people like to watch comedy movie most than other serious movie. People all over the world all like the suspense and action movie, for example: CSI NY Series. Which describe the story of Police. Some similar dvd which are about police are all have good audience rating, another master piece is Bones. Now the N0.1 DVD series in world is Ncis Cast and Big Bang Theory Gull Episodes. There are too many good dvds and USA is the best country which produce so many good dvd box set what we have all admitted that. In Asia, Hongkong is famous for it’s dvd box set too called TVB Series. They have reproduced many dvd from usa, one of them is Doctor Who.
