ACC Daily Fever: The ACC's Best Team in 2009 Could Be Determined on Saturday

Posted: Sep 23, 2009

ACC Daily Fever is the top ACC story of the day. Disagree? Let us know.

One of the most important games in the conference season will take place Saturday in Blacksburg when Miami travels to meet Virginia Tech.

The Hokies know they must play better than they did against Nebraska to beat the high-octane Canes and keep moving towards the goal of a third straight ACC crown.

Miami has been one of the best stories of the early season, and the Canes are playing for their first division title since joining the ACC. Jacory Harris has looked like a star in Miami’s first two wins, but playing against a tough Tech defense is always tough for young quarterbacks.

The winner will have the upper hand in a tough Coastal Division race, while the loser will face an uphill battle in their quest for conference supremacy.  The winner will also becomes the ACC's most prominent national team.

For a conference that has had trouble separating the wheat from the chaff over the last few years, this game could become the proverbial cream rising to the top.
