ACC Daily Fever: Miami's Jacory Harris Provides Hope For ACC

Posted: Sep 09, 2009

ACC Daily Fever is the top ACC story of the day. Disagree? Let us know.

What a game. For a week that saw the league struggle mightily, the Florida State-Miami thriller was a nice sign of the ACC’s potential.

Both teams had some quality quarterback play for what seems like the first time in five years, and the athletes on display showed that each program has started recruiting on a top level again.

The star of the game was Miami sophomore quarterback Jacory Harris, who looked like a future star running new offensive coordinator Mark Whipple’s offense. With Virginia Tech and Oklahoma struggling to throw the ball in their openers, the ‘Canes brutal first month schedule looks much more manageable after Week 1.

With respect to the rest of the ACC, its football future still rests in the hands of Miami and FSU since they both lie in the football-rich state of Florida.  Their shared issues of late have been their lack of skill position playmakers.

Harris and Co. might just be leading the way for for both the ACC and the rest of college football.
