ACC Daily Fever: FSU's Offense Continues to Raise Concerns

Posted: Aug 26, 2009

ACC Daily Fever is the top ACC story of the day. Disagree? Let us know.

It seems that Bobby Bowden is not too happy with his offense these days- too many mistakes, penalties, etc. Hopefully for FSU fans, that unit will be ready to on Labor Day versus Miami because they hold the key for success this season.

When the 'Noles scored more than 17 points last year, they were 9-1. If Christian Ponder and crew can just get to that 17-20 point mark each game, FSU will be the heavy favorite to win the Atlantic Division and probably the ACC.

Florida State also needs to find the same type of perimeter playmakers they had in the '90s, and that will put them back on the national map each season.

Offense has been the achilles heel of FSU since former OC Mark Richt left to coach the Georgia Bulldogs.  If current OC and future HC Jimbo Fisher fails to ignite the offense in 2009, long term questions about FSU football will continue.
