Random Notes, Hoopee Jam, Boxmasters and Such

Posted: May 14, 2009

Greetings, Sports Fans.
I was hoping to have our new Boxmasters interview ready for you today, but it turned out to be quite an opus. Still transcribing. But man oh man, is it a good one. I had the opportunity to speak with J.D. Andrew, Mike Butler  and Billy Bob Thornton last night at length, and it was a blast. Billy and I dug deep into Southern Rock as well, and he gives us his take on today’s country music. Grab ahold of something, y’all. Coming soon.

Raven Records of Australia will be reissuing The Charlie Daniels Band’s seminal 1977 album Midnight Wind, along with seven live tracks taken from various Volunteer Jam LP’s. I am happy to say that I have penned the liner notes for the reissue, which will be a welcome addition to any Southern Rock library. Previously, I was happy to be asked to write the notes for Raven’s excellent Dickey Betts compilation. The company does great reissues, and have issued CDs of Bonnie Bramlett and Eddie Hinton, among others.

The Hoopee Jam runs this Friday through Sunday down in Georgia. This first year jam will feature The Tommy Talton Band, Randall Bramblett, Jimmy Hall, The Yonrico Scott Band, Blueground Undergrass, Tommy Crain and The Crosstown Allstars and many more, including your's truly. Check it out at hoopeejam.com

Your stuff about this post is really intriguing. I have to choose the paper writing services to buy essays or pre written essays just about this topic, because this is the useful fact.
