Back To Where it All Began: The Southern Rock Era

I have pretty much decided that the whole "Southern Rock" thing began in 1969.

Sure, there were many rock and rollers and rockabillys that lead up to this new genre at the time. Not to mention all the country, blues and gospel players that served as influences on the first Southern Rock Bands. But with the beginnings of Capricorn Records and the signing of The Allman Brothers Band in 1969, along with the formation of Lynyrd Skynyrd out of The One Percent around the same time, as well as the whole host of other bands forming in Macon and in Jacksonville, it was the birth of a new era. The Southern Rock Era. Ten years of outstanding music and musicians.
