The Very Best of The Marshall Tucker Band

Posted: Aug 22, 2008

I will never forget the first time I heard the music of The Marshall Tucker Band. Not only were they a blend of every kind of music I loved, from blues to country rock to jazz, they were from my home town of Spartanburg, SC. It was an immediate bonding between band and fan. A bond that has lasted over 35 years.

While I love almost every song the band ever recorded, I decided to list what I truly feel are their 25 best songs. Please let me know if you agree or disagree.

Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.

Coming soon, the 25 Best Lynyrd Skynyrd songs..... Stay tuned. Don't touch that dial!

Number Eight, the Grammy nominated "Long Hard Ride." Note: Be sure to check out Phil Walden's cameo. He is the sniper on the roof top that Paul Riddle pops a cap in.

Wow. To pick 25. I listen to them everyday. I always think what songs do I like best but there are way to many. They are one of the best bands ever. I saw George and Tony Artsa[ The gut that wrote Garth Brooks hits] at the CCU hall in myrtle Beach . Just the two of them. No band and It was free. I will never forget that. They both told great stories. Thanks Buff has the stuff as always.

I couldn't agree more Buffalo. And thanks for the Long Hard Ride movie. I haven't seen that in years.
