Edwin McCain is back with a new album, and it may well be his finest work yet. There's a good reason for that. He has wanted to do an r&b record his whole life.
Growing up in Greenville, SC (The same town where Phil Walden was born, Esquerita was born and yours truly has lived since 1991), he was "raised up" listening to a steady diet of Motown soul and r&b. (Check out our archived interview with Edwin for more on this.) The man has got some pipes, and this time out, they are drenched in hot buttered soul.
Check out our review here, and if you dig sweet southern soul, I recommend you check out McCain's latest.
Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.

Wow. Edwin looks like your twin brother, Buffalo! You must have influenced him. Is that a Greenville thing?

Edwin McCain puts on a hell of a live show. I have seen him five times, and he always plays at least one funky r/b number. The new album is killer too I agree.
