A Trip to The Keys: Southern Rock's Greatest Keyboard Players

Posted: May 28, 2008

And the lists just keep on coming...

This time we run down the Greatest Keyboard Players of the Southern Rock Era. They're all here, the Hammond B-3, the piano - from Chuck Leavell to Taz DiGregerio, the Top Ten.The best of the best. Check out the list and as always, let us know what you think in the Comments section. I've got to go pull out Brothers and Sisters and crank up "Jessica."

Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.

PS: By the way, be sure to check out today's new CD review post. Tumbleweed Junction is a great band on the verge of great things.

I have heard John Galvin play some mighty classical sounding stuff as well. Perhaps John should be higher up on the list?

I'm glad you mentioned Edgar Winters Roadwork. That Cd rocks the house. I saw them live and was they blew the doors off the place. Remind me of Robert Randoff live at the Wetlands. Great list. How about best cove song by a Southern Rock band?

Chuck Leavell is the greatest. I met him down in Muscle Shoals years ago. He is for sure number one.
