Drummer Timmy Fodrey says that Rocking The Mile is being released as a kind of buffer between the full length original album Stone Ground and their next original release coming in late 2006 . Rocking The Mile features a pair of nice originals, surrounded by classic cover tunes that are the staple of Rhythm Pigs live shows.

“Guardian Angel” is an extremely nice original blues tune, with some excellent guitar work by Jimmy Williams, an outstanging guitarist in anybody's book. “Keep Your Dreams Alive,” written by Fodrey for his late mother Kay, is another very nice song with lyrics written from the heart.

Along for the ride are rave-up renditions of Johnny Winter’s “Illustrated Man,” the Grateful Dead classic, “Casey Jones,” Lynyrd Skynyrd's' “The Needle and The Spoon,” Merle Haggard’s “Lonesome Fugitive” and Warren Haynes’ “Soulshine.” All are given the full Rhythm Pigs treatment. One hundred and ten percent. Ninety-nine MPH in the passing lane.

The Rhythm Pigs are one hard working band, and their continuous gigging together has honed their craft to a sharp edge. Excellent musicianship and a whole lot of passion. More good pork than a 4th of July BBQ.
