Video: Jimmy Johnson and Alan Walden from Lynyrd Skynyrd Documentary

Posted: Feb 09, 2008

I have been aware of the Lynyrd Skynyrd documentary being filmed by Rick Broyles and Tony Beazley for a few years now, and by all accounts it looks like it will be just the documentary we have all been hoping for. Gone are the sensational editing techniques that made past Skynyrd videos hard for many of us to watch. Missing here are  television networks who turn out drivel like the Uncivil Wars mess that was aired a few years ago.

Beazley and the Broyles brothers are putting together an honest, loving portrait of the band, told by band mates, friends and record company folk.

The guys have posted a few clips from the film online, and I'd like to share a few of them with the Gritz readers. Once the documentary is finalized, we will feature a story and interview with the videographers.

Until then, enjoy this great clip of former Skynyrd manager Alan Walden and Muscle Shoals music mogul Jimmy Johnson talking about the early days of the band.

Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.
