Kennesaw State University Music & Entertainment Business Program

Twenty miles north of Atlanta, the venerable Kennesaw State University now offers rare opportunities for students to earn first-hand experience in the music and entertainment business. Mr. Joel A. Katz spearheads the new Music & Entertainment program at the fastest growing University in Georgia. The KSU program is a joint venture between the Coles College of Business and the College of the Arts.

The purpose of the program is to help students gain knowledge in the music and entertainment industry. Success in the music and entertainment business requires a variety of skills from diverse fields. The KSU Music and Entertainment Business Program’s curriculum has been developed to provide students an opportunity that they otherwise would not experience.

The Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business program is “to educate students to become music professionals in an environment that motivates and enriches their intellectual curiosity to the level where they see themselves making music and entertainment their full lifetime career.” Katz serves as a main donor to Kennesaw State University, and also represented James Brown, Willie Nelson, George Straight, Jimmy Buffett and Christina Aguilera to name a few in his impressive career.

Former University of Georgia director of the Terry Business College, Bruce Burch now operates the director of the Kennesaw State Music & Entertainment Business Program. Burch told me yesterday, “The difference about Kennesaw State is it’s not only a music business school, but also film, television, video, dance and theatre. The industry is converging. This program includes everything…”

Stay tuned for upcoming KSU-related events…
