Neil Young Honored As MusiCares Person of the Year
It’s Grammy weekend, so here’s a few notes on the upcoming outing. The weekend kicked off last night in Los Angeles with a tribute to Honorary Southern Artist Neil Young. He was honored as MusiCares Person of the Year for his decades of work with organizations such as Farm Aid and his wife’s Bridge School Concerts.
Young is up for a Grammy for vocals on his new CD, Fork In the Road. Last night Elton John, James Taylor, Ben Harper, Leon Russell, Neko Case, Steve Stills, David Crosby, Graham Nash and MC Jack White all performed Young’s songs.
Other Grammy nominees I’d like to see win this weekend include Derek Trucks, Brendan O’Brien, Levon Helm, Booker T. Jones and Lance Ledbetter. Good Luck to them all…
