I met Jimmy a long time ago around 1978 when I was first starting to play guitar. He actually came to my house to take my big sister out. He sat and talked with me about music for a while. He was very encouraging to me. He talked about Alias and I went and bought the album as soon as it was released. Sorry to hear this.
I've been a longtime fan and player of Lynyrd and southern rock. I just bought ACB "Here There And Back". What a great album and what a gritty singer he was. I thought he sounded a lot like Paul Rodgers. Rest easy Jimmy and know that you are missed.

I never got to see Jimmy, but boy did I get to hear him! I bought Alias the Day it was released and the same can be said for Allen Collins Band. The music that these bands produced was excellent and should've eclipsed Michael Jackson by a mile or seven! The problem is that the public's tastes aren't worth a damn. As a singer and lyricist Jimmy was extraordinary, and I'll bet he was a fine Man as well. God bless Jimmy and I thank him personally for his great contribution to the art of Music!
