I thought I'd send out a transmission I received today from a Mystery And Manners Honorary Southern Artist, Marc Ford. Marc and I correspond when magic rises to the surface. We've stayed in touch through the years and last week he got in touch to say listen out for him because he has some news for me...I responded. Last fall we rolled a mysterious narrative tale that ran through Atlanta, Athens and San Francisco...now it's time for the next chapter.
To me...Marc Ford is Clint Eastwood with a guitar. He's confessed his admiration for my insight...so for some high-octane-fun-information his electronic email sent today at 7:35EST read: "...Got a great new record done with a bitchin band that includes John Bazz on stand-up bass from The Blasters--Stephen Hodges who's playing with Mavis Staples and is on a Tom Waits record or two. Six of us total including this harp player who's insane. He plays the chromatic through a fuzz and sometimes you can't tell if it's him or me. Anyway, I'd love you to write a bio for the band and record coming out on the label that put out Weary And Wired...Marc Ford..."
So...the electricity increases...and I always answer the call...
