Well, here I am in Decatur, Alabama, a stone's throw away from Muscle Shoals. I only have a minute to report that recording on the new Cowboy reunion album is going great. The new songs are top drawer, and it has been very cool meeting the guys who recorded such classic Capricorn albums as Reach for the Sky and 5'll Getcha Ten.
Everyone sounds as though they just stepped through a time portal, and 35 plus years in between albums never even happened. It is truly a magical experience to be sitting in Johnny Sandlin's studio and watching this masterful record producer work.
Stay tuned for a full report with lots of photos after we get through this intense recording session. We'll be finished with recording Sunday night, and I will return to our Greenville offices by Monday afternoon to assemble the story of the "comeback of the year."
Meanwhile, the picture of the day is the old Cowboy house in Macon, duriung a front yard jam session Cowboy had with Duane Allman and Berry Oakley.
Keep it Real.Keep it Southern.
