 Ryan Bingham and the Drive By Truckers began a tour together yesterday in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This evening they perform in William Burroughs' old town of Lawrence, Kansas. Bingham, a young Texas troubador, whose new album, Mescalito, ranks as the best CD of 2007. Produced by ex-Black Crowe Marc Ford, Mescalito proves Bingham stands as a true original and I highly recommend this disc.

The Drive By Truckers remain busy. They just completed an album of their own last year, an album with Bettye LaVette this year as well as a "double" CD of their own slated for release in 2008. This rare double-barrel billing serves as a strong temptation for anyone who loves earthy rock and roll. Check out the dates...
