Kid Rock's New Album Fueled By Southern Rock

Kid Rock has announced an October 9th release date for his upcoming album, the long awaited follow-up to 2003's Kid Rock. Rock 'n' Roll Jesus will be Kid's seventh studio set and his fourth on Atlantic Records and featuring an overall Southern rock feel.

Among the new tracks are the metal anthem and lead single "So Hot", the album's only rap track "Sugar," the gospel-influenced "Amen" (which Rock calls the best song he's ever written), the Motown laced "Roll On", the David Allen Coe collaboration "New Orleans", the Lynyrd Skynyrd/Warren Zevon mash-up "All Summer Long" and the country-based "Half Your Age," a kiss-off tune to Rock's ex-wife Pamela Anderson.

According to Rock, R'n'R Jesus is "like going to church drunk on Saturday night. It defines America; if you just had to play one American rock album for somebody, this would be it."

Kid Rock has promotional appearances scheduled for the time period of the record's release, plus a full scale tour penciled in for 2008.
