Jimmy Hall to Sing Anthem in Rome, Marshall Tucker to Perform

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves announce today that Southern rock legend Jimmy Hall will perform the National Anthem at the 48th South Atlantic League All Star Game Tuesday June 19th.

Hall, lead vocalist and harmonica player for Wet Willie, has a long and varied background as a performer, working with Capricorn Records from its early days in the 1970s. Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, Hall co-founded Wet Willie in 1970; over the next ten years, Hall and the group toured with Aerosmith, the Allman Brothers Band, Grand Funk Railroad and the Grateful Dead. Hall was later nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocalist for Jeff Beck's 1985 Flash album.

Ticket Office Open Saturday: The Rome Braves ticket office will open Saturday June 16th from 10am until 5pm allowing fans to purchase available All Star Game and All Star Concert tickets. Only box seating and lawn seats are still available for the game on June 19th. All Star Game ticket prices are as follows:

The All Star Concert featuring the Marshall Tucker Band, Lee Roy Parnell and Randall Bramblett will take place at the Forum on June 18th beginning at 8pm with doors opening at 7pm. Tickets are just $10.

What a treat for Rome fans! Jimmy Hall should play a harp solo in the middle of the National Anthem! The only other person I can't get enough of singng the Anthem is Ray Charles! Now it's Jimmy Hall! Soon it will be also Alison Heafner who has been asked by the Memphis Redbirds to sing the National Anthem at one of thier games! Robert Nix............
