Allow me to introduce Swampland’s mission…This electric crusade operates at a mystical reservoir where music, literature, film, food, photography, art, sports, current events, and other indelible southern cultural ingredients converge.
In a historical context, Swampland epitomizes standing at the crossroads of essential artistic forms that preserve and illuminate a geographic identity like a cosmic encyclopedia…a timeless conduit to southern life…

A young teacher myself at the time and still reasonably idealistic, I found Conroy's account of his first teaching experience in a one room school house on the tiny island of Yamacraw just off the coast of Beaufort, North Carolina, powerful and compelling. I wanted to know more about this fascinating author and most of all, I wanted to read more of his books.

I'm writing from Australia, I have long had an interest in the South, its hisory and music. I look forward to visits to your web site.
One thing I would like to get from it is information on how to get hold of music DVDs of Southern Rock bands. They are difficult to get here in Australia.
