Porter Wagoner Rocks Hollywood With Billy Bob, Marty and Dwight

Posted: Feb 21, 2007

HOLLYWOOD, Ca. - Porter Wagoner played in Los Angeles on Saturday,  February 17 for the first time in over 40 years. Wagoner was celebrating his 50th anniversary as a Grand Ole Opry (coming this Friday, Feb. 23.)

Porter  filled the middle slot in a show that was headlined by alt-country's Neko Case, with opening singer-songwriter Eric Bachmann.

Wagoner was joined by Marty Stuart, who played guitar and mandolin, Dwight Yoakam on bass and Billy Bob Thornton on drums during several numbers, including his the classic "Green, Green Grass of Home." Porter also covered "Men With Broken Hearts," an old recitation that Hank Williams originated via his alter-ego, Luke the Drifter. Also on the set list was the  Johnny Cash-penned "Committed to Park View," as well as  "The Rubber Room," and "A Satisfied Mind."

The 79-year-old Wagoner, who underwent emergency surgery last summer for an aortic aneurysm (the same affliction that killed Conway Twitty), reportedly won over the crowd, many of who were seeing and hearing the country music legend for the first time.

flashing lights says...

One great feature of having a super bright flashing lights or torch is that it will give bright light using simple AA batteries. The Emergency light will also run longer on these batteries than the regular strobe light. The lumens or bright light of police light is at ninety lumens.A stress ball is a good tool to release stress.
