Charlie Daniels Keyboardist Passes Away
On Wednesday, October 12, The Charlie Daniels Band keyboardist, "Taz" DiGregorio, died from injuries sustained in a car accident. He was on the way to catch the band bus in Tennessee for a show in Georgia this evening, which has now been canceled.
DiGregorio played in The Charlie Daniels Band for over 40 years. Among other songs, DiGregorio co-wrote memorable tunes such as "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" and "The Legend of Wooley Swamp".
Charlie Daniels issued this statement on his website regarding his longtime friend and bandmate:
"I am in shock now, Taz was one of my best friends. The CDB family has lost a great friend and musician. We traveled many miles together and shared so many nights on the road. We're going to miss you buddy. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten. We send our deepest condolences to the family."
Swampland also extends condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Joel "Taz" DiGregorio. The flag flies at half mast.
