James Lewis Carter "T-Model" Ford performs at One Eyed Jacks tonight in New Orleans. His birth date is unknown, but it's calculated that he's pushing 90.
Ford served as one of Fat Possum Records staple artists in the late 90s alongside Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside. I'm now in the process of transcribing my interview with photographer Adam Smith, and he tells a couple stories about T-Model Ford.
Last year Ford released an album titled Ladies Man. This year Ford released Taledragger, and these 8 songs preserve Ford's raw and lowdown sound. It's good to see an authentic bluesman still out there playing music.
