In a new development since part 2, “Rock & Roll Boomtown,” DeNeefe has signed a contract withThe History Press of Charleston, South Carolina for a new book. In Rock and Soul in the Rocket City: Huntsville Musicians Remember the Sixties, DeNeefe will craft theme-based chapters based on personal interviews and correspondence with over fifty musicians who played music in Huntsville in the 1960s. Special chapters will include influences on Huntsville's music scene such as Redstone Arsenal, the Beatles and the “British Invasion,” and Huntsville's roots as a racially segregated city.
