Posted: Feb 12, 2007
The Dixie Chicks won big at the Grammy awards on Sunday, taking home awards for  overall album and record of the year, best country album for "Taking the Long Way" and best song for "Not Ready to Make Nice," which they performed

The trio also won Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for "Not Ready to Make Nice." The Chicks' producer Rick Rubin won best producer for his work with many artists, including Johnny Cash and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

"Taking the Long Way" was the Chicks first album since the trio received much negativity from country radio stations and fans about negative comments Maines made in London about President Bush on the eve of the Iraq War.
