On March 14, the 26th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. On March 20, the performance will be broadcast on television.
2011 nominees include Donovan, Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond, Dr. John, Darlene Love, Tom Waits, Leon Russell, Joe Tex and the J. Geils Band. To be eligible for nomination into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a group must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.
Dr. John and Tom Waits are among the performers at the ceremony. I’m pulling for the southern soul of Leon, Dr. John, Joe Tex and Tom. It should be interesting to see Neil Young induct Mr. Waits.
