Each year, the Center salutes a musician at the festival whose work influenced Memphis and The Folklore Center. This Labor Day weekend the Southern Music Folk Festival is dedicated to the late Jim Dickinson.

Cody Dickinson plays an instrumental role in this year’s celebration. Cody will lead an experimental music participation with the audience as well as performing with the Sons of Mudboy Small Band.
