Gov't Mule Celebrates Millionth Download with Contest

Posted: Jan 30, 2007

Gov't Mule's MuleTracks.com is approaching it's  Millionth Mule Tracks Download. In appreciation of it's fans interest in their concerts, Gov't Mule will host the "Download The Millionth Song At  Mule Tracks" contest. The fan who downloads the millionth track will win  free downloads of every 2007 Gov't Mule concert!

Mule Tracks (www.muletracks.com) was launched in October 2004 in  partnership with Musictoday as a digital download service where Gov't  Mule fans can download almost every concert Gov't Mule has played since - that's over 250 concerts.

Gov't Mule Front of House Engineer Bruce  "Slim" Judd records each show to computer via sound board and an audience microphone matrix. The shows are encoded and posted on  MuleTracks.com within two to three  days of each show and offered in MP3  and FLAC loss-less (CD quality) formats, and includes custom artwork for  each show. "Classic Mule Tracks" features shows before 2004, some  include original bass player, the late Allen Woody.

Coinciding with the contest, Gov't Mule has released "A Million Miles  From Yesterday," the new single from Gov’t Mule's critically acclaimed  ATO Records release High & Mighty. The song features a mix of R&B,  gospel and rock; and tells of a man searching for his true home and  growing beyond the life he left behind. The band will release a video  for the song. It marks the first video release by Gov't Mule.

In January the band performed "A Million Miles From Yesterday" on Late Night With Conan O'Brien and Last Call With Carson Daly. Gov't Mule's  High & Mighty worldwide tour continues in 2007 through the US, Europe,  Japan and Canada. Visit mule.net for a complete list of tour dates.
