Big 12 Daily Fever: A&M Hosts Texas for Thanksgiving

Texas wrapped up the South Division last week, and Texas A&M became bowl eligible with their win over Baylor. So there's not much to play for at Kyle Field on Thanksgiving Night, right? That is definitely not the case as the Longhorns and Aggies prepare for a huge matchup Thursday night in front of the nation.

For Mike Sherman, this could be the big win that propels a young A&M squad into next season. The Aggies did upset Texas in 2006 and 2007, so it's not crazy to think that Jerrod Johnson (24 pass TDs, 8 rush TDs) and the A&M offense couldn't give the 'Horns a scare. Plus a surprising win with the whole state watching would give Sherman's bunch a sweep of the Texas Big 12 schools, something that could help recruiting immensely.

For Mack Brown's club, it's another test on the road to the BCS Title Game. Many pundits are looking ahead to the Texas-Nebraska game as a better matchup, but the Longhorns will have to be ready to go in a rivalry game where wild plays tend to happen.

It should be an entertaining contest, with all of the Lone Star State and much of the nation watching.
