Big 12 Daily Fever: McCoy Ties QB Wins Record As Texas Remains Unbeaten

Many of the stories for the Big 12 Fever during the 2009 season have been negative in nature. Whether it was the injuries to Oklahoma's stars or the struggles of the North Division, the league has had a pretty lackluster year. We do however want to recognize Texas and the focus they have shown each week to keep demolishing their opponents.

With the exception of the Red River Rivalry, the Longhorns have won every game by double digits and most have been blowouts. That was the case again Saturday when Mack Brown's club went to Waco and easily beat Baylor 47-14. In the process, standout quarterback Colt McCoy won his 42nd career game, tying him with former Georgia signal caller David Greene for most wins ever by a Division I-A quarterback. The Texas senior can break the record this week against Kansas in what will be his last game at Royal-Memorial Stadium.

It's easy to take for granted that Texas "will just end up in the BCS Title game", which has been the sentiment in the media ever since the win over the Sooners. The team still has to go out on the field and perform each week, and that's exactly what Texas is currently doing.
