Big 12 Daily Fever: Bradford Knocked Out Again, Texas Squeaks To Win

The nightmare for Oklahoma fans continued Saturday as their Heisman-winning quarterback was laying on the turf for the second time this season.

Sam Bradford was out for the game on the second drive, and the Sooners followed with a frustrating five turnover performance and lost 16-13 to Texas.

Many in the media will question Bradford for not jumping to the NFL, for coming back to the field too early, and for not having surgery. Conversely, we respect the kid for wanting to win a National Title for his home state University. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be a local hero, plus he will still have a chance to drafted high in the NFL.

Instead of second guessing, this is a time to wish him the best in his recovery.

As for the Longhorns, it wasn’t pretty but a win is a win. Their goal of a Big 12 and National Title is still very doable, but Texas will have to play much better down the stretch to reach those lofty heights.

The Big 12 story is still being written for 2009.  Texas just has to stay in the lead of this up and down conference.
