Tribute To Jerry Wexler
In New York City on October 30 a memorial will be held for the great Jerry Wexler who died in August 2008. The momorial will include performances by Vaneese Thomas, Allen Toussaint, Bettye LaVette, Lenny Kaye and others to be announced.
The Atlantic Records mogul coined the term "rhythm and blues" and played an integral role in the careers of Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Jim Dickinson, Led Zeppelin, Wilson Pickett, Dusty Springfield, Big Joe Turner, The Rolling Stones, Solomon Burke, Duane Allman, Etta James and many more.
