Big 12 Daily Fever: Oklahoma-Texas should be a Classic

Posted: Oct 16, 2009

This one has it all-Tradition, Star players, Conference and National Title implications, and good old-fashioned hate. The Red River Rivalry will kick off Saturday morning in Dallas with both Oklahoma and Texas feeling like they owe the other one for last year.

The Sooners lost this rivalry game last season despite Sam Bradford throwing five touchdown passes. The Horns feel the need for revenge for watching Oklahoma go to the Big 12 and BCS Title games despite beating the Sooners on the field.

This season, Texas comes in undefeated while Oklahoma has battled through injuries to star players and has dropped two non-conference games. Despite those losses, the Sooners can still take control of the Big 12 South once again with a victory on Saturday. Sam Bradford returns just in time to try and ruin Texas’ title hopes for the second straight season.

The Red River Rivalry is must-see TV. Enjoy.
