Big 12 Daily Fever: Bradford Back Just In Time For The Sooners

Posted: Oct 12, 2009

Oklahoma fans received some comforting news the weekend when Sam Bradford was announced as the starter.

The Heisman winner threw for 389 yards and a score in leading the Sooners to a win over Baylor 37-7. But maybe the best news after the victory was that Bradford said his shoulder felt great after tossing 49 passes in the game.

While Oklahoma’s BCS Title goal may have been done in by injuries, they can now look forward to taking control of the South Divsion by beating Texas in this Saturday’s Red River rivalry. Bob Stoops' bunch still won’t have vaunted weapons Jermaine Gresham and Ryan Broyles on offense, but the Sooners will feel better about upsetting the unbeaten Longhorns with their signal caller back in the lineup.

For Texas, this is exactly what they didn't want to see - an OU team with nothing to lose.  Lately it seems that the winner in this rivalry is the team playing the loosest.

Texas shook off an early stumble against Colorado to wake up and blow them out.  They won't be able to start like that against the Sooners if they expect to win and keep their championship hopes alive.
